Absolutely!

A blind judging panel will review all nominations and completed questionnaires that are submitted. The panel will score the information provided in these forms. Qualifiers include: 

• Volunteer service
• Positive impact in your community
• Support for fellow military families
• Use of innovation, resources, networks or strategic partnerships, community, and/or workforce in support of your community

Little Heroes* qualifiers include: 

• What have they accomplished in support of their community
• How much time was involved 
• Who benefited from their efforts
• Any personal sacrifices made to make a difference in their community

Any spouse or child of an actively serving U.S. military service member; any Guard or Reserves spouse if service member has been activated for more than 180 days, living in the Hampton Roads, Northern VA or Jacksonville, FL region may be nominated for the Heroes at Home Military Spouse Awards or Little Heroes at Home Award.

Little Heroes must under the age of 17. 

Nominations will be accepted from family members, family, neighbors, any individual or group, civilian and actively serving personnel.

The questionnaire will be sent to all nominees after the nomination deadline of February 22nd. 

Heroes at Home Military Spouse Award Winners per region will receive:

• A $2,000 cash prize, courtesy of presenting sponsor USAA
• Recognition as the 2020 Military Spouse of the Year for your region
• Profiled in the 2020 Heroes At Home Military Awards Spouse Guide, distributed through the Flagship & Peninsula Warrior Newspapers (Hampton Roads market only)
• Profiled on the website for all markets

Little Heroes Award Winner per region will receive:

• A $500 cash prize, courtesy of presenting sponsor USAA
• Recognition as the 2020 Little Hero of the year for your region
• Profiled in the Awards Special Section, distributed through the Flagship & Peninsula Warrior Newspapers*
• Profiled on the website for all markets*
